The fine mesh catches even small-cut loose leaf teas cleanly, and because it's open rather than enclosed like a tea ball, leaves have room to fully expand and infuse. The result is a noticeably better cup. It's also much easier to clean than enclosed infusers, a quick rinse under the tap and it's done.
